Today is March 12, 2006

July 14, 2005 Activity:
1. What was most difficult? The logistics of the presentation in Power Point was most difficult for me, but also most instructional! Also, using Smart Board was new but fun.
2. What were you most comfortable with? Finding the main ideas and supporting details.
3. What from this activity could you use with your students? It's a great way to use collaboration and engagement when reading a long, complicated text like a Social Studies chapter. We could do a mini-lesson on deciphering nonfiction text first, and then have kids break the chapter apart in order to teach each other.
Self-Assessment of Assessment:
Of learning--summative presentations or quick quizzes
For learning--spelling intentories, checklists, student journal/self-evaluation, reading inventories
As learning--collaborative group work, writing workshop, reading workshop, reading discussion group and reflection
