The most difficult part of this project had to be with getting comfortable with all the new people we met and having educated discussions and taking risks with the information we were learning. I also think that even though I was familiar with most, not all, of the topics it was difficult to assimilate this information and visualize how this technology and information work in my first grade classroom as a teacher tool and as learning/exploring tools for my students.
I really liked using the technology... it was fun to explore... and very engaging
The jigsaw activity helped in that I only had to read and summarize a couple of pages of an indepth article and then discuss this with my team. Then we came up with a consensus.
I think that my students would love to collaborate with others in a group and come up with a main idea to an article or topic.
Of Learning = paper and pencil tests used to rank or give a grade to a student
For Learning = portfolios, authentic assessment to drive instruction.
As Learning = cooperative, PBL, and constructivist types of learning to give students self direction and learn how to monitor their own learning.
