July 14th Today's activity included reading one of four articles on the subject of assessment. It was a bit difficult to understand how to get started, but once the paper with the directions was reviewed it all made sence.
We worked well together, sharing knowledge about the article and how to organize the presentation into a Power Point presentation.
Each group presentated the information in a manner that would be easy to remember - the key points!
This activity provided several ideas of use with my students - first the article I read gave me some great ideas clear glass, buggy, muddy!
I would like to try and haavae the students create a powerpoint presentation about an article - about the life of an artist - It may take me some time to set this up, however this could be an excellent way to collaboraite with another teacher at my site.

Of Learning:The end of each of my units there is a completed artwork that is to be assessed. This artwork will reflect the criteria set out in the objective of the unit plan.

For Learning: If a student is engaged in an artistic activity, I have concrete evidence to follow and I can assess whether or not the student is learning the technique. I have to address that students needs or the artwork will not relect the lesson's criteria.

As Learning:
Before the beginning of studio time in class - the students are asked a question that they are to seflect on ..."How does the painting technique you are useing reflect the style of art that we are exploring in this unit?"
Often I use this as a motivation to work at a higher level of thinking.
